    Tuesday 9th January 2017 - Branch Council Meeting - at 2.30 pm at the Chairman's residence.  All Branch Officers are requested to attend please.
  • Friday 27th January 2017 - Holocaust Memorial Day - to remember the millions of people who have been murdered, or whose lives have been changed beyond recognition, through persecution by despotic regimes, particularly of millions of Jewish and other people, by the Nazis between 1941 - 1945, and others murdered since then in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.   • Wednesday 22nd February 2017 - Annual General Meeting (AGM) & ‘Winter Warmer’ Luncheon - meet at 12.00 (Midday) for lunch at 12.30 pm, followed by the AGM at 2.00pm.  Members were notified of the details by Newsletter. (See photographs courtesy of Mr K Jobson):-

  • Thursday 9 March 2017 - Branch Council Meeting - at 2.30 pm at the Chairman's residence.  All Branch Officers are requested to attend please.
  • Monday, 24th April 2017 - ‘St Georges Day Festival Dinner’ - a formal (black tie) event commenced at 7.15pm (Sherry Reception) for dinner at 7.45pm.  A very successful convivial evening was held - members family & friends enjoying a fine meal.  Click here: to see photographs of the evening.
  • Monday 8th May 2017 - Branch Council Meeting - at 7.00 pm at the Chairman's residence.  All Branch Officers are requested to attend please.
  • Friday 15th September 2017 - ‘Battle of Britain Day’ Luncheon was held successfully. It was very well attended by members, family & friends who enjoyed an excellent meal together. The Guest Speaker was Mr Len Dent, who gave a very interesting talk about the'Battle of Britain'.  
  • Saturday 18th November 2017 - ABF the Soldiers’ Charity (North East) and SSAFA Tyne and Wear Branch will be holding an‘Arras Dinner 2017', from 7.00 pm until 11.30 pm, at Northumbrian Universities Officers’ Training Corps, St Cuthbert’s Keep, Holland Drive, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE2 4LD. In aid of the two charities the tickets are priced at £27.50 per person, inclusive of champagne reception, wine and entertainment. Dress code: Black tie/Mess Kit with Miniatures or Lounge suit. Closing date is Tuesday 14 November 2017.
